Java 1.6 has some issues with Mac OS 10.6. Like ASDM 6.1 does not work at all with it.

But luckily there is a work around. here.
I’ve tested it and it does work! You will need to delete any asdm.app files & manually edit the asdm.jnlp file and change 1.5+ to 1.5. That’s it. It should run and work now.
